Google is confusing many people with the latest release of its Google Chrome browser. After being unveiled last year, Google finally removed the “Beta” label from the browser and released the first “stable” version in December. Now, Google is once again showing the latest version of Chrome as a Beta version. What’s the deal?
Google has released several updates and fixes to the Chrome browser, but is finally ready to let loose its next major upgrade to the software as a beta release. Many of the new features are still being tested and polished, making this latest release not quite ready for everyone. You should only upgrade your Chrome to the latest beta release if you want to help test out the new features and are willing to risk dealing with some glitches. Otherwise, just skip this update and wait for the next stable release.
According to Google, the new Chrome beta has several upgrades and new features including:
- Improvement in browsing speed
- Basic form autofill
- Full page zoom
- Support for autoscroll
- New method of dragging tabs into side-by-side view
If these features sounds appealing to you, download the new beta release and see what you think!
